Syracuse celebrates the summer season outdoors, with a variety of events and festivals to suit everyone's "taste."

Taste of Syracuse
June 1 & 2, Clinton Square, Downtown Syracuse
www.tasteofsyracuse.com

In 2005, the Bacon Brothers (as in Kevin and Michael) drew more than 50,000 people to this annual summer kick-off event. Enjoy concerts, cooking demonstrations, and food, beer and wine tastings, from more than 40 area restaurants. Restaurants will offer at least one item for $1. Admission is free. Pay as you eat!

93Q Coors Light Balloon Fest
June 8-10, Jamesville Beach Park, Jamesville
www.syracuseballoonfest.com

This is a perfect family event. Watch "take-off" at 6:00-7:30 p.m. each day and at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting). Brave souls can even take a ride in one of the dozens of ten-story high balloons. Enjoy national and local recording artists, amusement rides and a fresh-water beach. Last year's national entertainers included Aaron Carter, Tyler Hilton, and Bonnie McKee.

Syracuse Nationals Car Happening
July 20-22, Empire Expo Center/ State Fairgrounds
www.RightCoastCars.com

A must-do for the classic-car and street-rod enthusiast. Vintage autos, muscle cars, tuners and more show off during this event. Tractor pulls, flames, and cruise nights keep the crowds excited.
